November 24, 2020 - The Government of Nova Scotia announced the closure of recreation centres in the Central Health Region until December 10. The closures affect 3 of the 4 planned sessions so the program has been cancelled.

Gain the confidence to win more races in the game on offence and defence with Landonedge Skating's expert instruction + feedback. 

 

Skating with power + efficiency requires the proper combination of body positioning, blade edges, and stride direction to build and maintain speed on straights and through turns.

 

Landonedge Power Skating is founded on Todd Landon's 20+ years experience as a certified + chartered high-performance speed skating coach.

Program limited to 16 skaters

1:8 coach to skater ratio

Certified and/or trained skating coaches

Program Details: 

Each session of the 4-Week program includes 50 minutes of on-ice  skating development.

For all levels of Hockey and Ringette players aged 8-14 years-old.​

 

Schedule:

  • Wednesdays November 25 to December 16

  • On-ice 7:00am - 7:50am

Location

  • Cole Harbour Place

  • 51 Forest Hills Parkway, Dartmouth

 

Fee:

  • $134.99 early bird fee until November 8

  • $154.99 regular fee after November 8

Required Equipment:

  • Skates

  • Helmet with Face Mask

  • Knee and Shin Pads

  • Neck Guard

  • Gloves

 

Program Curricula:

  • Starting – using body positioning, blade pressure, and stride direction to accelerate.

  • Straights – using body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively push off the skate to build and maintain straight away speed.

  • Corners – using body position, blade pressure, and stride direction to effectively push off the inside and outside skate to build and maintain speed through cross-overs
